Revelry Gallery is thrilled to welcome University of Louisville MFA 2020 graduate Shae Goodlett for his first solo show with us. Goodlett will light up our gallery space for the whole month of January with his vibrant, precisely-cut paper works, which are back lit with colorful neon lights. Join us online or in-person for the opening of Invocation on Friday, January 8th.
  
"Invocation is a series of meditative line drawings that conjure an intangible presence by exercising the illusory characteristics of light and color interaction. Through a meditative and labor-intensive process, I attempt perfection, knowing that it cannot be reached...The images' interactions conjure phantom colors and optical effects which are not physically present, but nonetheless real and communally experienced. In this way, my work addresses issues of ritual, divinity, and perception." - Shae Goodlett
  
Shae Goodlett is an artist and illustrator from Louisville, Kentucky. His work has been featured by Sports Illustrated Kids, Louisville Magazine, and Heaven Hill Distillery. A recent graduate of the University of Louisville, Shae received his Masters of Fine Art in Studio Art and Design with a concentration in drawing. His current body of work reflects his research into color, religious theories, and methods of ritualistic practice.
