Daybreak, by local Louisville artist, Bobby Hinkel!
Dimensions: 54” x 27”
Hinkel salvages discarded wood from old shipping crates leftover wood from home renovations, and cull from nearby lumber stores. He uses a vast assortment of paints, wood glues, and fillers to create the depth and textures of each creation. He completes each piece by using his tools to shape and highlight the imperfections in the wood.
"Every piece of wood has lived a previous purpose and has a story enclosed within it. Just like people, wood can be exposed to various elements throughout its lifespan. I bring each piece of discarded wood back to life in every exhibition, giving each fragment a new direction." - Bobby Hinkel
