Equine Fascination: A Colorful Spring Cocktail of Horses and Fascinators.
In this show, these two high school best friends merged design elements from each other’s work, resulting in a playful and colorful symbiosis. Their collaborative goal was to create a colorful show that reflects the celebratory nature surrounding the Kentucky Oaks & Derby, while paying homage to two themes: horses and fascinators. Just like spring in Kentucky, the trending hues and colors present in their pieces are fresh and optimistic.
“Springtime always feels like a fresh start, but after the past couple of winters, everything seems even more vibrant and hopeful this time around! We wanted to create a collection of bright pieces that showcase the excitement surrounding spring horse racing in Kentucky—and hopefully just bring some joy to people who see our collaboration!” - Melissa Crase
Melissa’s work is a mix of acrylics, inks, pastels and spray paints on canvas, with vibrant colors and textures being key elements of her style.
