Collage Art, 16.5" x 23.4", by Goitoom Gebru
"In 'Blessing', I capture a timeless Tigrayan tradition where a woman carries injera on her back and priests bestow their blessings upon the food, a customary practice in Tigray. Despite the prevailing drought and difficult challenges back home, this artwork reminds us to seek blessings for what we have, fostering happiness and unity within ourselves. Using small magazine fragments, the collage technique resonates with the enduring hope that, through gratitude and tradition, we can overcome adversity and welcome abundance" -Goitoom Gebru
