Jacob Grant
Jacob Grant (b. 2002) is a Louisville-Based Artist and Curator who received his BA in Art History and Philosophy at the University of Louisville and is completing his MA in Critical + Curatorial Studies.
Working in installations and painting, Jacob has combined classical techniques against contemporary depictions of the queer man. His artwork has been part of Revelry Gallery since early 2023 and has presented his first Solo Show MASCUERADE (2024), and A Haunting in KY (2025). Jacob's artwork encompasses conversations of gender identity, sexuality, and selfhood.  Primarily working in oil painting, Jacob focuses on alla prima techniques to explore the depth in which color can be quickly applied. In addition to his figural work, he is also interested in creating still life studies of cocktails, which he views  as objects hold desire and death amongst vanity and connection.Â
His work has been shown across Kentucky with the Faulkner Morgan Archive (2024), Queer Kentucky's Issue No. 7 "25 Faces of Fairness" (2024-2026), and Pique Gallery (2026). Amongst his artistic pursuits, Jacob's curatorial pursuits have revolved around photographic art, works on paper, and archival objects including projects such as Doing Americana and Not Yet/Always Been for the 2024 Queer Symposium on Queer Art/Archives with the University of Louisville.Â
