Gallery Show OpeningAmerican Cathedral by Tommy Wortham RallisFriday, September 4th, 6-9pm (on display until September 28th) Revelry welcomes back artist Thomas Wortham Rallis for his second solo show, American Cathedral. This show is a continuation of his previous work on Americana. Through the use of oil paintings and mixed media relief sculptures, Thomas recasts iconographic figures as religious shrines. Here, he imagines patriotism as a living deity given form through history, faith and myth. American Cathedral is a visual accumulation of virtues against materialistic culture, asking how a nation can turn pantheonic through the survival of “the dream”. 9 to 5: A Dolly Parton Popup Art ShowFriday, September 25th (and up for the weekend) Celebrating the icon, the legend, the woman who gave us big hair, big hearts, and even bigger dreams. 10% of proceeds from this show will be donated to the Imagination Library in honor of Dolly.

Gallery Show OpeningMANIFESTO: Drawings by Julio CesarFriday, October 2nd, 6-9pm (on display until November 2nd) Revelry gallery welcomes back the iconic artist, Julio Cesar, for the opening of his solo show MANIFESTO. Cesar has been well known as a skilled oil painter, but this gallery show will be the debut of his surreal chiaroscuro pastel drawings, which he has kept hidden away. MANIFESTO emerges as a declaration through drawing. It is not a manifesto understood as a set of rules or principles, but rather as a need to speak, to make visible what often remains unspoken.
