Gallery Show Opening
American Cathedral by Tommy Wortham Rallis
Friday, September 4th, 6-9pm (on display until September 28th)
Revelry welcomes back artist Thomas Wortham Rallis for his second solo show, American Cathedral.
This show is a continuation of his previous work on Americana. Through the use of oil paintings and mixed media relief sculptures, Thomas recasts iconographic figures as religious shrines. Here, he imagines patriotism as a living deity given form through history, faith and myth. American Cathedral is a visual accumulation of virtues against materialistic culture, asking how a nation can turn pantheonic through the survival of “the dream”.
Please join us for the opening of American Cathedral on Friday, September 4th, 6-9pm.
