Callista 2021, ink & marker cut out drawings arranged & layered in acrylic floating frame, 16" x 19".
In Callista an atmospheric arrangement of cutout drawings depicts the female nude relaxing in a heavenly sky of blue clouds. For this piece I was inspired by serene poses in supine and prone positions that allowed me to explore both foreshortened and elongated poses of the body. I chose imagery of fluffy clouds to rest the figures on and found the combination of drawings made me feel relaxed and confident. The driving force behind all my pieces is to ignite a love for being in one’s own skin and to appreciate every line the curve of the body makes.
For installation, four holes need to be drilled in wall surface to mount the frames. Keyhole mounting hardware included with instructions.
Care and maintenance: wipe with a soft, dry lint free cloth.
