GONE
Join Revelry to celebrate the new-fashioned work of Folk artist, Patrick Jilbert in GONE. A menagerie of monsters and men that captures the modern eye with its lack of seriousness. His art applauds the the DIY, making art for the fun of it, and sharing in the joy of what you have made.
Patrick Jilbert makes art because he likes to. While he was drawn to art at a young age, he did not care for art classes in school and guarded himself against the formal methods of how art is supposed to be. Ironically encouraged by a pile of art supplies from his sister, an art teacher, Patrick got hooked and has not stopped art making since high school.
Shrugging off the limitations of over-thinking, Patrick’s wooden cut-outs are inspired by reptilian creatures, history old and new, and a song lyric or two - bringing play and perhaps subconscious commentary to the things surrounding our society.
